Get to know Emme
Emme Griffith has spent nearly her entire life as a musician. What began with piano lessons at age six soon grew into a lifelong passion. When she first stepped on stage as the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland Jr., her parents later remarked that it seemed as though she was meant to be there.
Emme continued performing in musicals throughout her childhood and later transitioned into straight theater as a teenager. Her natural stage presence was strengthened through years of training, resulting in exceptional acting skills that now shine on the operatic stage. Whether portraying a baroque pants role or an aging nun, Emme brings authenticity, depth, and humanity to every character she embodies.
Vocally, Emme has studied classical voice for ten years and currently trains under Professor Renée Tatum at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Faculty members comment that they are “struck by the color and richness of [her] voice.” Now in the second year of her master’s degree in vocal performance, she continues to refine and polish her instrument with dedication and artistry.
Outside the rehearsal room, Emme enjoys training at her local CrossFit gym. This practice not only gives her a keen awareness of the body’s muscular structure but also helps her develop the stamina and physicality required for the demanding roles she performs on stage.
