• Welcome to Root & Resonance!

My private studio, Root & Resonance, is located at 1400 N Sixth St, Knoxville, TN. I also teach online lessons to students outside the Knoxville area. I specialize in classical vocal technique, which can also be applied to musical theater studies.

In my studio, I always want each student to feel the joy of finding their authentic sound. Music is a powerful tool of transformation, and there is nothing more rewarding than finding your voice. I chose the name Root & Resonance because I believe that we make our best sounds when we are grounded in our minds and our bodies. I take a student-centered approach that takes into consideration not only your voice but your goals as a musician.

Please feel free to fill out my contact form or send me a message if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

My Teaching Philosophy

Every voice is already whole

My job as a teacher begins with listening. Listening to the sounds a student makes, yes, but also to the person behind it: their history, their hesitations, their particular way of moving through the world. Before we ever talk about technique, I want to know what brought you here and what you’re hoping to find through voice lessons.

At Root & Resonance, the studio is a place where that search is honored. I believe that singing is one of the most intimate acts a person can undertake. It asks you to be present in your body, vulnerable in your expression, and trusting of the people around you. I want you to feel guided, not pressured. Your progress is celebrated, not compared.

Technique matters deeply to me. I’m a working singer and a serious vocal student. I will never shortchange the craft, but technique in my studio is always in service of something larger: the goal isn’t to sound like anyone in particular. It’s to sound more and more like yourself.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned performer, you belong here. Growth, in this studio, is measured not just in scales and repertoire, but in confidence, curiosity, and the quiet courage it takes to open your mouth and sing.

Growth takes root slowly, but roots, once set, hold.
